IT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE TO SHOW
THIS DEVICE IN PUBLIC PUNISHABLE
BY 5 YEARS IN PRISON
If you are reported to the Gardaí for carrying a replica firearm in a public place, armed officers will respond and treat you as if you are carrying a real gun.
Airsoft devices must be treated with respect and while they appear reasonable to any player or collector, the general public will naturally assume it is a real gun and respond in kind.
Always carry your Airsoft device in a suitable carry case or box.
Using an Airsoft device to commit a crime will result in prosecution for firearms offences as the courts draw no distiction between real guns and toy guns. The minimum sentence for committing a crime with an Airsoft device will be 10 years in prison.
The Irish Airsoft Association is the National Governing Body for the sport of Airsoft in Ireland, we are a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation. We have been working with government agencies such as the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, An Garda Síochána, Customs and the national sports administration authorities to safeguard and advance the sport of Airsoft in Ireland. We are also the primary point of contact for national press agencies, newspaper, TV and radio when it comes to Airsoft.
Our mission is:
To safeguard and advance the sport of Airsoft through responsible self-governance and representation, as well as engagement with the relevant authorities.
To provide safety and peace of mind to players and parents of players by promoting our affiliated retailers and venues, who have voluntarily signed up to a code of ethics and conduct.
To improve and maintain the profile of Airsoft in Irish society through engagement with the media and special interest groups
We rely on the support of our individual members to continue running. We urge anyone who is interested in the sport of Airsoft to become a member. It costs just €10, and you can join at [signup.irishairsoft.ie]
Our website, www.irishairsoft.ie includes a list of approved venues where you can go to play safely, knowing that the sites have been independently vetted, and a list of approved retailers that follow a strict code of conduct to insure the Airsoft kit they supply is safe and legal.
